| Virtues, A new children's picture
book
by Bob and Mike Smeets,
offers an appealing way of broaching the subject. The book is as much a discussion book as it is a picture book. Michael’s writing is refreshingly sparse. A short caption introducing the twenty two virtues illustrated, is the only guidance or direction the writer gives. “The spirit of the book is for the reader, or more appropriately, the viewer, to initiate their own conversations about virtue." Mike Smeets, the writer The art work does not disappoint. The colors are bold, bright and vibrant. There is plenty of depth in each of Bob's illustrations to initiate a discussion on virtue. Virtues is so much more than a children’s picture book. Teens, young adults, parents, pastors and educators will all appreciate the book’s simple presentation and powerful message; a life lived in virtue is a life well lived. |
